Well, I Do Love Me Some Snoopy

June 18, 2007 · 1 Comment

I saw this quiz on Pam’s blog and developed a burning desire to classify myself:

 *****************

Your Score: Joe Normal

47 % Nerd, 47% Geek, 47% Dork

For The Record:

A Nerd is someone who is passionate about learning/being smart/academia.

A Geek is someone who is passionate about some particular area or subject, often an obscure or difficult one.

A Dork is someone who has difficulty with common social expectations/interactions.

You scored less than half in all three, earning you the title of: Joe Normal.

This is not to say that you don’t have some Nerd, Geek or Dork inside of you–we all do, and you can see the percentages you have right above. This is just to say that none of those qualities stand out so much as to define you. Sure, you enjoy an episode of Star Trek now and again, and yeah, you kinda enjoyed a few classes back in the day. And, once in a while, you stumble while walking down the street even though there was nothing there to cause you to trip. But, for the most part, you look and act fairly typically, and aren’t much of an outcast.

Thanks Again! — THE NERD? GEEK? OR DORK? TEST

************

Ha ha!  I used to geek out on various obsessions a lot more before having kids.  Alas, I just don’t have the time to devote to the online Space Ghost: Coast to Coast forums any more.  However, you can have my SG ballcap signed by George Lowe, Andy Merrill, and C. Martin Croker when you pry it from my cold, dead fingers.  ;-)

Actually, having kids has probably upped my nerd factor, since we’re going to homeschool.  I hope my kids are lifelong ubernerds, so I have to set an example.

I guess the dork factor is just innate.  *shrug*

I Look Like a Hooker

I’ll show a picture later (the camera is AWOL).

I haven’t worn foundation or blush in a long, long time. I ordered some free samples from everydayminerals.com, thinking that maybe I’d start, y’know, giving a damn about my appearance occasionally. I’m ordering some skin care stuff from Avon, too. It’s a level of girliness that I haven’t approached since High School.

Anyway, between being unfamiliar with application techniques, unsure of the correct shade (hooray for free samples!), and just generally out of practice… yikes!

Oh well, I’m not going anywhere today. :-)

Fiber on the Hoof

Squeee!  We got to go to an alpaca farm today!  Yeah yeah, it’s Florida, and thus too hot to wear alpaca more than 3 days of the year, but who cares!  Behold the cuteness.

So pleased to meet you!

Smile!

3 weeks old.  Could you convulse from the cuteness?

They’re SO soft.  And they were all quite gentle and refrained from spitting.  ;-)   One of them got nervous and kicked a hind leg at Yakko in the holding pen — not hard enough to hurt his body, but it wounded his feelings terribly.  While I was comforting him at the other end of the pasture, the friendliest of the alpacas, Pride, came over to comfort him with me.  I swear to you, that camelid hovered over him until he stopped crying and gave him kisses!  Alpaca kisses are very soft and fuzzy.  <3

Pride, the Kissing Alpaca

It’s the Double D farm in Trenton.  If you’re ever down that way, Don and Dea are delightful and most hospitable.  They’ve got 4 animals for sale for the low low price of $2000.  Who wants to chip in?

Hooray!

Well, TS Barry hit Tampa and went *poof!*  All of a sudden all the rain was up north of Florida and out to sea.  So after a tense hour of last-minute packing, a-camping we went.

I haven’t swum in the waves in years.

I haven’t slept on the ground in more years.  Oof!

But we all had a blast.  Whee! I’m hoping to channel this refreshment and renewal into productivity around the house.  I’ve been really damn lazy in the self-discipline arena lately — I’m starting to disgust myself.  :-p Onward to Home and Self Improvement!

Well, Ain’t This a Pisser?

We’ve been planning to camp at St. Augustine this weekend for about 6 weeks now.  The tent and the marshmallows are all set.

Yakko is going to be crushed.
